How to Love Your Neighbor Without Being Weird Review

How to Love Your Neighbor Without Being Weird by Amy Lively.  What a great title! Right?  I had to pick it up and read all of Amy’s advice.  She has motivated me to be a better neighbor.  It’s too bad I’m between houses right now.  I will probably have to at least flip through it again once I get settled in our new neighborhood.

Have you ever asked God any of these questions  (or even just thought them to yourself)?

“What kind of neighbor should I be?  What should my relationships with my neighbors look like?  What kinds of conversations should I be having with my neighbors?” Page 182

This book gives you a lot of suggestions and explains how God is asking you to love your neighbor.  The book is full of Amy’s real life examples of how she has chosen to love her neighbors.  She discusses her successes and her failures.

“Sometimes I give the devil a break and do his job for him.  I get so wrapped up in myself that I don’t see the needs of others.  I neglect my responsibilities, I give in to my selfishness, and I decide to do things my way.” Page 189

If you feel God calling you to be more neighborly or are just working on hospitality I would recommend this book.
